  • an initial free 15 minute phone call

  • a family Interview to discuss the funeral and the needs of the family/chosen family

  • writing a eulogy if requested or assisting family to write their own, choosing readings, liaising with the speakers and

  • designing a personalised ritual

  • final ceremony sent to client for approval

  • officiate the funeral/memorial service 

  • post ceremony phone call and check in, one month post for any further grief support

$900/$600 concession card holders.

Support

Nyx Funerals values the innately individual grieving process that occurs after loss and bereavement, that is not something that you pass through in stages or that you ‘get over’ in time. Grief is something that you integrate into your life and carry on a relationship with the deceased through what’s known as ongoing bonds. If at some point in the grieving journey you feel like you are needing extra support a referral to grief specific mental health agency can be of great assistance.

Grief support is charged at $110 per hour (concession avail on request) in person or online for brief contact (1-3 sessions) grief support and education including:

  • basic grief education to assist in grief literacy and normalise what you are feeling

  • referrals to appropriate grief support counselors and services when needing additional support

  • social work referrals for other presenting or identified service needs

  • creating simple rituals for family and friends to honor and maintain connection to the deceased

  • somatic, relaxation exercises for processing grief in the body

Nyx Funerals strongly values empowering individuals and families to make informed decisions in regards to funeral and memorial planning and end of life care. Our advice line is open to discuss pre-planning and general inquiries around funerals and death care, this includes but is not limited to information around different funeral providers in Melbourne, DIY ceremonies, death doula referrals and home funeral advice.

I work with graphic designer and architect, Alison Fairley on custom made funeral booklets. These professionally designed booklets not only show the order of service but often become keep sakes, themselves.
