Privacy policy.

At ‘Nyx Funerals’ we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of visitors to our web site and subscribers to our newsletter. Here you’ll find information on how we treat data that we collect from visitors to our website, or when someone subscribes to our newsletter.

Visitors to our website

When someone visits www.nyxfunerals.com.au we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. .

Newsletter signup

As part of the registration process for our regular e-newsletter, we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about stuff you’ve asked us to tell you about; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right. We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

We use a third party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice.

You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing joh@nyxfunerals.com.au

How we use your personal data

We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:

  • Where we are required to perform a task you have requested of us; in most cases this involves forwarding the data you provide in contact forms to the celebrants or other supplier(s) you have chosen to make contact with.

  • Where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests.

  • Where we need to comply with a legal obligation.

Generally, we do not rely on consent as a legal basis for processing your personal data, although we will get your consent before sending direct marketing communications to you via email.

Disclosures of your personal data

We will only share your personal data with third parties when you complete and send supplier contact forms on our website. The details you provide in those forms will only be shared with the third party applicable to that form, and your details will not be shared with any additional third parties. Only the information you provide in the form will be sent to that third party.

We require all third parties to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with the law. We do not allow our third-party service providers to use your personal data for their own purposes and only permit them to process your personal data for the specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions.

Access to your personal information

You are entitled to access the personal information that we hold. Email your request to joh@nyxfunerals.com.au
